How Meta Tags Work

Priority Order

When displaying meta information, the system checks in this order:

  1. Page/Product specific meta (if set)
  2. Category meta (for category pages)
  3. Default meta (from these settings)
  4. Store name/logo (ultimate fallback)

Open Graph Tags

The system automatically generates Open Graph tags for Facebook:

<meta property="og:title" content="Page Title">
<meta property="og:description" content="Page description">
<meta property="og:image" content="https://yourstore.com/image.jpg">
<meta property="og:type" content="website">

Twitter Cards

Twitter card tags are also generated:

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@yourstore">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Page Title">
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Page description">
<meta name="twitter:image" content="https://yourstore.com/image.jpg">
