Currencies

Purpose

Manage currencies supported in your store for international transactions. Define currency symbols, decimal formatting, and exchange rate information.

Accessing Currencies

Navigate to: Delivery & Payments > Currencies from the sidebar

List View

Currencies List

The list displays all currencies configured for your store with their formatting settings.

Table Columns

Country

  • Format: Text
  • Purpose: Country associated with this currency

Name

  • Format: Text
  • Purpose: Full currency name (e.g., "US Dollar", "Euro")

Code

  • Format: Text
  • Purpose: 3-letter currency code (ISO 4217, e.g., "USD", "EUR", "GBP")

Precision

  • Format: Number
  • Purpose: Number of decimal places (typically 2)

Symbol

  • Format: Text
  • Purpose: Currency symbol used for display ($, €, £, etc.)

Native Symbol

  • Format: Text
  • Purpose: Currency symbol in native format

Symbol First

  • Format: Text
  • Purpose: Whether symbol appears before amount (1) or after (0)

Decimal Mark

  • Format: Text (single character)
  • Purpose: Decimal separator used (. or ,)

Thousands Separator

  • Format: Text (single character)
  • Purpose: Number grouping separator (, or . or space)

Row Actions

  • Edit: Modify currency settings

Bulk Actions

  • Delete: Remove multiple currencies
  • Export: Export currency data to Excel/CSV

Creating a Currency

Create Currency

Click "New Currency" to add a new currency to your store.

Form Fields

Country Required

  • Type: Searchable dropdown
  • Purpose: Select the country for this currency
  • Options: All available countries

Name Required

  • Type: Text input (max 255 characters)
  • Purpose: Full currency name
  • Examples: "US Dollar", "Euro", "British Pound", "Japanese Yen"

Code Required

  • Type: Text input (max 255 characters, typically 3 letters)
  • Purpose: ISO 4217 currency code
  • Standard: Use official ISO codes
  • Examples: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AED, INR

Precision Required

  • Type: Number input
  • Default: 2
  • Purpose: Number of decimal places for amounts
  • Common: 2 for most currencies, 0 for some (JPY)

Symbol Required

  • Type: Text input (max 255 characters)
  • Purpose: Currency symbol for display
  • Examples: "$", "€", "£", "¥", "د.إ"

Native Symbol Required

  • Type: Text input (max 255 characters)
  • Purpose: Currency symbol in native language/format
  • Note: Often same as Symbol

Symbol First Required

  • Type: Number input (0 or 1)
  • Default: 1
  • Purpose: Position of currency symbol
  • 1: Symbol appears before amount ($100)
  • 0: Symbol appears after amount (100$)

Decimal Mark Required

  • Type: Text input (max 1 character)
  • Default: "."
  • Purpose: Character used for decimal separator
  • Common: "." (English), "," (European)

Thousands Separator Required

  • Type: Text input (max 1 character)
  • Default: ","
  • Purpose: Character used to group thousands
  • Common: "," (English), "." (European), " " (space)

Create Actions

  • Create: Save and return to list
  • Create & Create Another: Save and open blank form for next entry
  • Cancel: Discard changes

Editing a Currency

Click the Edit icon to modify currency formatting settings.

Common Formatting Examples

United States (USD) - Symbol: $ - Symbol First: 1 - Decimal: . - Thousands: , - Display: $1,234.56

Europe (EUR) - Symbol: € - Symbol First: 0 - Decimal: , - Thousands: . - Display: 1.234,56€

United Kingdom (GBP) - Symbol: £ - Symbol First: 1 - Decimal: . - Thousands: , - Display: £1,234.56

United Arab Emirates (AED) - Symbol: د.إ - Symbol First: 0 - Decimal: . - Thousands: , - Display: 1,234.56 د.إ
